Dreamer of dreams

Hello everyone,

For my post for UmWow Studio today I have made an art journal page.

I used a piece of pattern paper which I had lying around for ages. I just wanted something that was not too dark.
First I'll show you what I did with the chipboard.

I decided to use my Verday paints and spray. I used copper in this case.

I painted on the copper paint using a normal paintbrush and dried it.

I then added a second layer and while the paint was still wet I sprayed the oxidation spray on it..

Here you can see how it is starting to react.

And here is what it looks like when the oxidation is complete.

Here is a close up of the dreamer.

and another one.

I think he looks really fun with his crown !

And here is the finished project. I used model paste and a stencil, a die cut doily, Lindy's inksprays, a few rubber stamps and some sari ribbon. The dreamer is a Tim Holtz image which I cut out.

I used the crown from this set. You will find it HERE.

A little play

Hello everyone,

I received the stamps I ordered from AALL & Create today and had to try them out.... so here goes...

First I made a card :

I used a gelli printed background and the stamps by Tracy Evans and Fiona Paltridge.
The birds were coloured with Copic Markers, cut out and adhered onto the panel. I added some background stamping, some splattering and some book text strips..

Next I made an art journal page..

I made a background using my gelli plate and Fiona's stamps. I added some more stamping and splattering again. The focal image is by Olga Heldwein as is the sentiment.

Hello everyone,

Here's mine:

It is an ATC on watercolour paper.
I stamped Cooee and the sentiment, coloured everything with watercolour markers and added the spirals with Distress Oxide ink. I doodled around the card and that was that !

Bold colour

Hello everyone,

Today I have a project for Visible Image. I have used the ballerina again as I love her..

I made this page with a gelli print from my stash, which is getting low !!! I stamped the word 'colour' first with Distress Oxed Ink and then embossed it with clear powder. I used a white gel pen to accentuate the letters. Next I stamped the ballerina so she is standing on the two "O's". I added some white dots around her skirt and hand too. Next I stamped the rest of the sentiment on white card stock and edged them with a green and blue Copic marker before adhering them. Lastly I added the cracks in the corners and the doodling.

I have used the following stamps:

Every second...

Hello everyone,
Hallo allemaal,

Today, for Hobbycompleet De Duif, I have an art journal page. I have used the Distress Oxides again, because I think they are wonderful. Also these flower stamps are so versatile. I think I like them so much because they are different to the traditional flower stamps and I like non-traditional !

First I made the background by dragging watercolour paper through Oxide inks with water. I used Cracked Pistachio and Wilted Violet. I then did the same with another piece of water colour paper and I used this to stamp the flowers on. I also stamped some more flowers on book pages. I then cut everything out.

I added some background stamping with black ink. I also stamped the sentiment onto the flowers with the same colours for more interest.
Next I layered the flowers until I liked them and adhered them onto my page on top of the background stamping. This way they stand out more.
Lastly I stamped the sentiment in the top right corner and used a white paint marker to add splatters.

Epic

Hello everyone,

I am in the blog at Hobbycompleet De Duif with this journal page today!

It was fun making this ! I started with a gelli print. The first layers are yellow, light and dark and after that I used orange and red (all Amsterdam acrylic paints) with a little mask from PaperArtsy (the flower) isn't that cool !
I stamped the background with grey and orange ink and then stamped the animals (CMS303 - 'On the farm' by Tim Holtz) on white paper; I turned the sheep around as I wanted him to face the other way. I used a mini gelli plate for this; you stamp your image on the gelli plate and then you stamp the gelli plate onto your paper and hey presto, a turned image. I stacked them on top of each other and added the prize ribbon. Inside I used a sentiment from the Hipster set by Tim Holtz.
A few pieces of washi tape finished the page off..

Thank you so much for stopping by today !

Groovy

Hello everyone,

Today I had finally time to play ! Yay... I have been so busy lately; I cannot imagine how I used to cope with everything when I still worked !!! I guess that is always the case when once you are home all day.
Anyway, I got my Deco Art paints out today and I have been wanting to so something with an Andy Skinner stencil that I must have had for a year.. I think it turned out, well, really groovy !!!

I started with a piece of Mixed Media paper. I used my gelli plate to create a background with lots of colours: Cobalt Teal hue, Yellow Light Green, Cadmium Orange Hue, Primary Yellow and Primary Magenta. I used Titanium White and Carbon Black to block out the people and to stencil the stars. I also splattered some thinned down white on the  whole page. To get some texture in my background I used foam stamps that I bought in a toy shop and a coaster from Ikea.
Once I was happy I used the two masks that are part of this stencil set from Andy Skinner which is called "Hippy Chic".
I laid them onto my project and sponged around them with black paint. I kept rotating them to get a different perspective. I then filled in the gaps between the peeps with a brush. When everything had dried I used a white gel pen to go around the figures.
Lastly I added the stars which are in the same stencil set and some splatters.
The sentiment is made with rubber stamps.

Thank you so much for stopping by today !

A cupcake in a world of muffins

Hello everyone,

For the second week of the "Bling it on" challenge over at the Stampotique Designers's Challenge blog, I have made a tag. We are also still collaborating with Lindy's Stampgang and of course I have used the lovely supplies we got from them to use this month.

First of all I stamped the smal cupcake all over the tag with VersaMark ink and then heat embossed it with Lindy's Embossing powder "Dandilion Yellow Green". I then sprayed the starburst spray "Rusty Lantern Lime" over the top. I also added some splatters with the "Black Forest Black" Magical shaker. I put the powder on my craft sheet, added water and splattered with a paintbrush.
Next I stamped the cupcake, coloured it with Copic Markers, adhered it to the tag and added the sentiment over the top. I coloured the letters in with a white paint marker. For a bit more bling I added some silver sparkling washi tape.

That was it !

I used the following stamps:

I hope you'll play along with us this month. You might just win one of two $30 vouchers at the end of the month. Before entering please read the rules !

Like no one's watching !

Hello everyone,
Hallo allemaal,

For the DT of Hobbycompleet De Duif I have made a card with Stampotique stamps. Maybe you already know this but De Duif has now Stampotique Originals Stamps in the shop too ! Yay !

Voor het DT van Hobbycompleet de Duif heb ik een kaartje gemaakt met Stampotique stempels. Misschien wist je het al maar de Duif heeft sinds kort Stampotique Originals in het assortiment ! Hoera !

For this card I used one of my gelli prints. I stamped the heads on it with Distress Oxide and then coloured in the eyes and the hair lightly.
I stamped Sheer separately on white card stock and coloured her with Copic Markers. I cut her out and adhered her to the gelli print. I did stamp her on the gelli print too. I didn't have to cut out all the little hairs that way. The sentiment is on of a Visible Image set. The links are in the text below...

Beautiful

Hello everyone,

For my DT at De Duif I have made a card with the fantastic flower stamps designed by Kim Dellow for  the PaperArtsy Eclectica Range. I think I might use this set a lot as I love these stylish flowers.
The sentiment I used is from the Visible Image set called "Own it". Love these sentiments too !

I stamped the flower that is in the foreground first and then masked it and stamped the rest. I coloured everything with Zig Clean Color Real Brushmarkers and when everything was dry I added the sentiment which is only a part of the stamp.
Lastly I glued the panel onto a blank card.

Thank you so much for stopping by today !

Happy birthday

Hello everyone,

Welcome to another Stampotique Designers' Challenge ! This week it is all about bling. We are still collaborating with Lindy's Stampgang as well so the bling bit is not difficult with all those lovely shimmery sprays....
We hope you will bling up your project and play along with us. Just make sure to read the rules first...

Anyway I have made a birthday card:

I have made the background with Lindy's 'Rusty Lantern Lime' and 'Blue Hawaiian Blue'; these are starburst sprays and have a lovely shimmer to them.
I then stamped the girl and the sentiment on white card stock, coloured the girl and cut both out. I adhered them to my background and then added some stickles glitter glue to her skirt. The whole panel was then adhered to a blank card.

I used the following stamps:

Explore - Discover - Journey

Hello everyone,

and welcome to this blogpost for Visible Image. This time I have made a trio of ATC's.

The backgrounds were made with Tim Holtz' Distress Oxide Inks. I used 'Fossilized Amber', 'Peeled Paint', 'Spiced Marmalade', 'Broken China' and 'Cracked Pistachio'.  Next I stamped the backgrounds with Broken China Oxide Ink and Jet Black Archival ink.
I added some doodle lines around the edges and then stamped the main images and words. The were cut out, apart from the map which I tore out, and adhered to the cards. The word discover was stamped directly onto the card. I added some twine around the middle card and adhered all three to a piece of water colour card stock. Makes a nice panel I think...
That was it. Here are some close ups:

Where is my mind?

Hello everyone,

For today's VivaLasVegaStamps!  post I have made a postcard:

I recently got my hands on the new Oxide Inks by Tim Holtz and I used them on this card. I used watercolour card as that seems to work really well. I have used green, blue and yellow and they all layer over each other beautifully !
I smooshed the ink on my craft sheet, sprayed it with water and dunked my card into it. I did all three coloured separately but you can also use them all at the same time.
Next I did some background stamping; using the same inks and also some black Archival ink.
I stamped the man and the sentiment on book paper, cut them out and adhered them onto the card and to finish it off I drew some lines along the edges.

I have used the following stamps:

Follow your dreams and use the Tim Holtz Stamp Platform !!!

Hello everyone,

For my DT at De Duif I was so lucky to try out the new Tim Holtz Stamp Platform and I must say I am convinced ! It is a great tool to get nice black impressions. The other nice thing is that there are no inlays or anything for different kind of stamps. You just turn the lid over and switch from rubber to clear and vice versa.

Anyway I have tried it out with one of the Visible Image stamps from the set "Born to perform" and a rubber stamp sentiment from PaperArtsy's set ELB34.

You can watch the whole process here :

April

Hello everyone,

and welcome to my calendar page for April ! I used 100 Proof Press for this page as usual. You'll find all the lovely stamps from them HERE !

Here's my page for April :

I was experimenting with Tim's Oxide inks the other day and after using a stencil I spritzed it with water and put it face down on a piece of card stock and hey presto another background was born. I thought these colours would be perfect for Spring. I added some stamping with the same inks and doodled around the edges.
I coloured another piece of paper with the same inks and stamped the bird on it. I cut him out, added more colour to his beak and legs and then glued him to the background. The sentiment was typed on my old typewriter.

I have used the following stamps:

A little ray of...

Hello everyone,

It is the first Wednesday in April and that means there is a new release at Stampotique. As you might know these days we get 6 new stamps every month and not a huge amount twice a year. This is easier to deal with for everybody.

Also this month we have a collaboration with Lindy's Stampgang ! yay ! I love Lindy's products and use them quite often. For this collaboration we were sent some goodies and I used three of them on my project: A starburst spray, 'Rusty Lantern Lime' for the background, a Magical 'Sidewalk Chalk' and a Magical Shaker 'Black Forest Black' for adding splatters.

It is also the second week of the 'Text Background' challenge and I have made a journal page with some old and some new stamps. Why not play along with us? You might win one of two $30 vouchers at the end of the month. Just make sure to read the rules first !

I started with adding a layer of Gesso on my paper. When is was dry I added the script with VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with WOW white embossing powder. I then sprayed the page with the lime inkspray and when that was dry splattered some white and black on it.

I stamped the television on the page and on a separate piece of paper. Next I stamped the girl and the sentiment. The TV and the girl were water coloured,  put together and glued to the page. The text was cut apart and adhered to the page. I did add some grey water colour to the edges of the word strips.

That completed my page.

I have used the following stamps:
from the March release:

Daydreams

Hello everyone,

I really enjoyed making this card with the Distress Oxide Inks for the DT of HobbyCompleet de Duif. I think it came out really lovely !

The card panel is made with Watercolour paper and I have dunked it into Distress Oxide inks in the colours Spiced Marmalade, Fossilized Amber, Vintage Photo and Walnut stain.
I have finished it off with stamps by PaperArtsy (ELB34) and Tim Holtz - Stampers Anonymous (CMS269). The flowers were stamped on marker paper and lightly coloured with Copic Markers, cut out and adhered to the panel. Lastly the panel was adhered to a blank card base.

Thank you so much for stopping by today !

If you rest, you rust !

Hello everyone,

It is the first of April already, time goes so fast !

Over at Country View Challenges we start a new challenge today and the theme, which was chosen by the lovely Evelyn, is rust ! I love rust... and for this project I made my rust with Finnabairs rust pastes... so much fun.

I have made a little wall hanger:

This is the finished result and here is how I made it :

I cut a piece of grey board to size and added gesso.

These are the pastes I used, a mixture of the two works best.

And there it is rust...

I cut a piece of watercolour paper to go on the cardboard base. It is a little smaller and I distressed the edges. I used the Distress Oxide Inks.

The are amazing.  They go much brighter when you spritz water on them.
I smooshed my card into this lovely puddle of ink and dried it. I repeated the process until I was happy with the result.

And here it is. Isn't that cool !

I used a PaperArtsy stamp with the same inks for more interest. It is from the Eclectica Range by Lin Brown. (ELB34)

Here's how that looks.

Next I stamped this little Zinski critter, also by PaperArtsy. (Zini ZN04) I can't get enough of them, they are sooooo cute ! I stamped him twice; once on white card stock to colour with Copic Markers and once on the coloured panel. I do this so when I cut him out of the white paper I can just cut off little bits like his hair. When I layer him on the one on the panel, he is whole again.

Here he is coloured, cut out and adhered. I added a piece of metal that I treated with the same rust paste. I cut it in half and glued it on my panel with gel medium.

And here it is all put together..

Some details of all the yummy rust...

And here he is in all his rusty glory. I found the sentiment on the internet and typed it on a scrap of pattern paper of which I inked the edges with the Walnut Stain Oxide ink.

We hope you will play along with us this month and have fun with rust. You could win a voucher for the shop of GBP 20,--. Jus make sure to read the rules before entering.
You will find them HERE
