Say cheese

Hello everyone,

Today I am sharing a tag that I made for Katzelkraft. I thought the look on this cat's face was priceless and went fabulously with the sentiment. He didn't want to smile !

I started off with a piece of card stock that I cut into a tag shape and added a layer of gesso to.
Next I collaged some paper onto it. This was kindly gifted to me in a swap. The rest of the background is Distress Oxide ink in the colour Iced Spruce that I applied with my fingers. I then stamped the grungy circle with the same ink. The result is very subtle.
Next I stamped, coloured and cut out the cat and adhered him to the tag. I added some shading, the sentiment and the ribbon and lastly doodled around the edges. That finished the tag.

I used two stamps :

Yeah

Hello everyone,

Hallo allemaal,

and welcome to my weekly post for Hobbycompleet De Duif. I have made a small art journal page for today and this is it:

Welcome op mijn blog waar ik vandaag een kleine AJ pagina deel voor Hobbycompleet De Duif.

I started with a piece of watercolour card and painted it with Dylusions paints. I used two of the new colours and applied them with a blending tool. Next I used the new Dylusions stencil and stamp. First I stencilled the leaves and then stamped the stamp over the top. It doesn't quite line up but I like that.
Next I added some details with a white pen.
I then stamped on of the Hipsters from Tim Holtz on watercolour card and coloured him with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. He was then cut out and adhered on a die cut circle of book paper. I doodled around the edge and adhered it to the page. Lastly I splattered some white paint and added the sentiment that came from the same set.

Happy Halloween

Hello everyone,

and happy Sunday to you. Today I am sharing an Art Journal page that I made for Vera Lane Studio.
I have used the latest release which is called 'Skullies' and it perfect for Halloween. There are 12 images in this set ! I have used 4 of them.

I used a gelli print and die cut the ovals out. I then lined it with white card stock. The skullies were printed to size, coloured with Copic Markers and cut out. I then adhered them in the ovals. The sentiment came from another set.

Here are some close-ups:

Dreams

Hello everyone,

Hallo allemaal,

Today I have an inspiration piece for the October challenge over at Hobbycompleet de Duif. The theme is 'Make a triptych' so that is what I did.
Vandaag heb ik een inspiratie project voor de uitdaging van oktober bij Hobbycompleet De Duif. Het thema deze maand is 'Maak een drieluik' en dat heb ik dus gedaan !

I started off with Mixed Media paper out of which I cut 6 labels. Three of these I painted with Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylics by PaperArtsy and a brayer. When this was dry I used a Tim Holtz stencil and some Distress Oxide but this layer has almost disappeared... Next stamping; I used Archival inks and paints for this. Bowtie was stamped on book paper and cut out, adhered to the middle tag. I added some shading for him to stand on. The sentiment is made of Tim Holtz Small Talk stickers and I glued them to the rest of the book paper before adhering them to the tags. I hinged the tags with washitape which was sandwiched between the front and back tags. (That's where the other 3 tags went). That was it !

A tag on which I have used lace, stitching, thread, paint, rhine stones, inks and embossing powder...

A card on a gelli printed background with added Stickles and doodling.

Another tag made with Distress Oxide inks, embossing powder and rhine stones. The stars are from the 'Universal' set.

And my favourite because it is so different, with metal flakes, thread, embossing powder, sequin stars and inks. I added some snowflakes from the 'Snow is falling' set here..

The year's last, loveliest smile

Hello everyone,

and welcome to my second inspiration post for the latest Challenge over at Country View Challenges. As you might know the lovely Rachel set the challenge and she wants us to make a Mixed Media piece with Autumnal Hues. We would love it if you played along with us ! Just make sure to read the rules HERE first.

I have made a tag :

and here's how:

I cut a tag from watercolour paper and applied some modelling paste through a stencil...

This is how that looks.

Next I coloured the tag with Distress Oxide inks. I used the method where you smoosh it onto your craft sheet, spritz with water and dunk your paper in it... repeat until you are happy...

I used a couple of stamps from these sets for the background...

I used the same inks as I used in the background.

The leaves were inked with different colours at the same time, spritzed with water and stamped. I then doodled around them with a black pen. The rest of the stamping was done with single colours without water.

I dug out this older Dina Wakley set because I wanted to use a bird and this bird is one of my favourites.. I coloured him with watercolours but wasn't happy with the result so I added some coloured pencil over the top and used Gamsol to blend it out.

Here's the finished tag again ! I added a sentiment that I found on the internet. I typed it on my old typewriter and cut it into strips before adhering it. Lastly I doodled around the edge of the tag and around the word strips.

Happy pills

Hello everyone,

and Happy Sunday ! Today I have an art journal page to share. I used another of those fabulous Vera Lane Studio Sets for this. Please meet Nurse Dee !

You probably wouldn't want to meet her though ! lol

I painted the page with acrylic paints by PaperArtsy and then used two of Tim Holtz' stencils; one with white and one with black paint. I also did a little doodling around the edges, some splattering and I added some washi tape. When I was happy I adhered Nurse Dee and her X-ray viewer. Both images were coloured with Copic markers. The sentiment comes from the same set.

You will find Nurse Dee HERE

And so the adventure begins..

Hello everyone,

I have made a tag for my DT post for Katzelkraft today !

I painted the tag with my fingers using PaperArtsy Fresco Chalk Acrylics. Next I stamped the background and the cat and rat too. I used similar colours to the background and black for the animals.
I then stamped the cat and the rat on separate paper and coloured them with Copic Markers. They were cut out and adhered to the tag on top of where I stamped them before. This way you don't have to cut out the hairs and whiskers. I added some shading under the rat and drew a line around the tag. Lastly I added a Small Talk sticker from Tim Holtz.

I have used the following stamp(sets)

KTZ179 Les rats de villes

October

Hi everyone,

I have another instalment  for the 100 Proof Press 2017 calendar and today it is October's turn !

I coloured the page with Distress Oxide inks in Autumnal colours and coloured the bird the same way. I cut him out and adhered him on a piece of dictionary paper. I also stamped the background lightly.
The saying was found on internet and typed and adhered. I will be back next month with another page.

I have used the following stamps:
