Discombobulated ??

Hello fellow Crafters,

From today we can finally show you the new release Stampotique Stamps. I made a postcard today to show you some of those fabulous new images.

To make this postcard I first stamped the chandelier and carefully coloured it with gold paint and copics. After that I clear embossed it. (I used a Versamark Marker for this). Next I coloured the background with water soluble crayons which I blended with a wet finger. I used Distress Inks to stamp the circles which are also from the new release. 'Buru !' was stamped on some white card stock, coloured, clear embossed and cut out. I also stamped him straight on the card. The coloured one was adhered on top of his image on the card. This sentiment comes from a stamp with new barcode texts to go with France's barcode stamp and it made me laugh. Lastly I drew a couple of lines around the edge.

I used the following new release stamps:

Goth Chandelier by Arwen
Circles cube by Daniel
Barcode Text # 2 by France
Buru ! by Daniel

Thanks for stopping by !

I hope you like the new release stamps !

Published !

Hello fellow Crafters,

Whilst in London I was in a stamp shop (what else do you do on holiday eh ?) and they just had the new Stampers' Sampler in. I asked the lady if I could have a look as I did send some more cards to them. She kindly let me thumb through the magazine and there it was : page 84 - 86 titled 'Around the world'. Here's some photo's :

The funny thing is that the stamp set I used was chosen by my husband when he accompanied me to a stamp fair in Holland. He is a very keen model aeroplane enthousiast and found these !

You can Imagine I was delighted to find out these cards were published in this wonderful magazine.

Thank you Stampington !!!

Thanks for stopping by !

Hope you like it enough to go and buy the magazine !!

Where is my mind...

Hello fellow Crafters,

I made this little journal page a while ago but thought I'd share it with you..... It is a real simple one.

I just used one stencil by Dylusions with several colours of Dylusions spray inks and after this dried I stamped the "Banksy Spray Can Cop"on a separate bit of paper and coloured him very lightly and cut him out. I placed him on the page and stamped the 'Where is my mind?" stamp over the top of him. The stamps I used are both from VivaLasVegaStamps!

Thanks for stopping  by !

Hope you like it....

A loving heart ...

Hello fellow Crafters,

We had a fabulous week in London to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and today I was able to return to my Craft room. One of the things I did was this art journal with some new stamps I got at the Stamp & Scrap show in London last weekend.

Here's a few detail photo's:

The pages have been coloured with water-soluble Crayons in Oranges and pinks on top of an oneven layer of Gesso. I then used some of the stamps from the new PaperArtsy Range Eclectica ESN11 to stamp the background. I used Archval inks for this; a pink, an orange and black. I then used a TWC stencil and some modelling paste to add the flowers.
The main images, the hearts, are from the same PaperArtsy stamp set and I stamped them on some watercolour paper that I coloured ages ago with Dylusions and twinkling H2O's.  I used some clear embossing powder while the ink was still wet, heat set them and cut them out. Next I stamped the sentiment that also came from this stamp set. It was then time to adhere hearts onto my page. I added some shading around them and lastly I used a black water colour pencil and a slightly damp blending stump to add the black shadows.

Haloween ....

Hello fellow Crafters,

Wednesday yet again! Can you believe how quickly time is rushing by? Today the very talented Carol is our hostess over at the Stampotique Designers Challenge blog and she choose the theme "Get your spook on" - early Halloween and this is what she said :

"I love Halloween and as a crafter it can never start early enough. So for the challenge this week I am sneeking it in a week early. So I hope you have fun getting an early Spook on. Carol x"

I am not very into Halloween as it is something that is not really celebrated here in Holland although the last few years there have been some kids going round trick or treating. Anyway I made this postcard:

I coloured this postcard by using a brayer and Distress Inks in Spiced Marmelade and Seedless Preserves. I stamped 'Barcode' and 'Fax to Wolfgang' in the same colours over the top. Next I dripped some water over the ink to get some lighter spots. Next I went around the edge with a fineliner and stamped the sentiment 'Wicked'.
The 'Wicked Witch' was stamped on white card stock, coloured with copics and cut out. I also went around the image with a black marker. That way it doesn't show if you didn't cut the image out perfectly.  I then adhered her to the card and that was it....

Why not play along with us and maybe you will win one of the two $30 vouchers at the end of the month to spend in the Stampotique Online Store HERE. The only thing we ask is that you only enter one project per challenge and you do not use Digi's.

I used the following stamps:

That's logic !

Hello fellow Crafters,

Another Art Journal from me. I used one of my favourite Janet Klein Stamps sold through Stampotique which is 'the Tweedles'. I also used this quote before but I think it is hilarious so I decided to use it again.

I love this colour combination of turquoise and brown. I started with spraying the page with Lindy's Stampgang Flat Fabio spray in the colour 'Ocean Breeze Blue'. I used Archival Ink in the colour 'Potting Soil' to ink the edges of the pages. After doing some background stamping with blue, black and brown inks I stamped the Tweedles and coloured them, cut them out and put them aside. I selected some ephemera by Tim Holtz and cut it to size, distressed it and coloured it with Distress Ink in Walnut Stain. I adhered it to the page. I then adhered the Tweedles on top of the measuring tape and took out my type writer and typed the sentiment. I cut this to size, coloured it with Walnut stain and adhered it on top of the bits of ephemera.
I used the following Stampotique Stamps: French Journal Page

Hip hip hooray !!!

Hello fellow Crafters,

This weekend the Craftorij celebrates its 4th birthday ! Coby's Stampotique Challenge is all about this. So I came up with an Art Journal that says : Happy Birthday Craftorij (Lia) !, and many more !

The base of this art journal was a gelli print. I didn't do anything to it but doodle a line around it. Next I stamped 'Sweetmoves' by Stampotique on the page and on some white card stock. I then drew a line under her feet so it looks like she's walking a tight rope. I used this line to hang the flags from 'Banner' by Stampotique on, I stamped these on different patterned papers and cut them out. Next I coloured 'Sweetmoves' and cut her out. I adhered her to her image on the page. Lastly I stamped 'Happy Birthday' by Stampotique.

I just want to say Happy Birthday Craftorij and wish Lia all the best in her endeavours to keep this shop the favourite shop of many crafters !!! Keep up the good work !

Awesome...

Hello fellow Crafters,

and happy Wednesday to you all. This weeks challenge over at the Stampotique Designers' Challenge blog is 'One Stamp', set by the lovely Samantha ! This is what she said:

"One of the beauties of Stampotique stamps is even though there are 18 amazing artists designing our rubbery goodness and their images work so well together it's great to use a lot of stamps for one project, I often do.
So this week, I am challenging myself too and inviting you to use just one stamp . . . wondering off scratching head and rubbing chin . . . this is going to be SO hard to choose!!
Most importantly, have fun, Sam x"
This is not easy, as Sam already said ... I made an art journal and this is it:

The background is made with a gelli print. All I added was some white chevrons with a stencil, which are very subtle and some white splatters. I used my sewing machine to go around the page. I stamped "Angel Boy"on white card stock,  coloured him with Copic Markers and cut him out. I added some glitter glue to his wings as you can see on the detail photo. Next I adhered him to the page.  Lastly I used my newly acquired typewriter to type the sentiment. It was great fun making this page with limited materials...

Why not play along too. You can win one of two $ 30 vouchers to spend in the Stampotique Online shop HERE. Only rules : One entry per person, per challenge and no digi's.

September ATC trade at the Stampotique FB page

Hello fellow Crafters,

The lovely Nikki Woodward organises an ATC trade on the Stampotique FB page every month. This is so much fun to do. The theme for the September trade was 'naughty' and as my trading partners have received their stuff I thought I share it here as well. These are the ATC's I made:

The first person's name Nikki gave me was Corrine 'Coco' Rollet and I sent her this card to accompany the ATC's:

The second person's name was Karen Haselden and I made her this card:

And last but not least I send Nikki a set of ATC's and a card as a thank you for all the work she does for these trades;

Thanks for stopping by!

I hope you like them; you can always leave a comment if you want ! I do appreciate your visits to my blog and the lovely comments make my day !

Who's a pretty boy..

Hello fellow Crafters,

Today over on the Stampotique Designers' Challenge bloglovely, talented teammie Sue has set the theme and she wants us to use an animal or bird in our project. This is what she said :

'Napoleon once said that the English are a nation of shopkeepers. What he should have said is that we are a nation of animal lovers. Nearly everyone I know has got a cat or dog, a pet rabbit or bird, and I know that my Stampotique teamies have their pets too. So this week we're celebrating the fur and feathers and I challenge you to create something with either animals or birds. So put your best paw forward and bring it on.
Have fun!'

Why don't you hop over and have a go too ? You can win a $30 voucher to spend in the shop. Just remember no digi's and only 1 entry per challenge !
Here's mine :

I started with an ATC sized card that was already coloured. I used Distress Ink in yellow and orange. I stamped 'Fax to Wolfgang' in orange Archival ink. Next I stamped the 'Caged bird' on the card and clear embossed it. I then stamped it again on white card stock and coloured the bird, cut him out and adhered him on his twin on the ATC. I coloured the bottom of the cage and the perch the bird is sitting on directly on the ATC with Copics.  Next I used some rub-ons, dripped some white ink on it and lastly I hand wrote the sentiment.
I used the following stamps:

The weather...

Hello fellow Crafters,

I have something totally different for you today. I did an art journal page and used mostly collage. Only one stamp was used; a script (VLVS!) in the background. Apart from that I used book text, ephemera (Tim Holtz) some paper flowers, some ribbon, a metal embellishment and a photo from my stash. For the background I used Lindy's Stampgang sprays, some gesso and gel medium as a resist.
Here goes:

Oops..

Hello fellow Crafters,

One of the nicest things to do with stamps is cutting up the stamped images and rearrange them somehow. That is what I did today when I made this mini art journal.

I started this journal with some pattern paper from Prima which I glued to a blank page in my mini art journal. I left the bottom strip on it as I thought it could be the floor. I stamped 3 stampotique stamps :

'Call me' is the stool with the phone on the top and 'Thinking of you' is the little dog, sitting in an armchair with a lamp beside him. I decided it would be fun to pretend that the dog had jumped on the stool and knocked the phone off. So that is what I did. I coloured all the images, or bits of the images I needed, cut out what I wanted and arranged them on my page. I made a little photo frame of the same pattern paper (reverse) and put 'Framed' in it, cutting off the little frame he is originally in.
I drew the little string to hang the photo on and that was that !

Thanks for stopping by !

Hop you like it....

Journey

Hello fellow Crafters,

I've been wanting to do another canvas for ages and when I saw the September 'Take it, Make it' Challenge from Craft Stamper Magazine I thought now would be a good time. It is all about stamping on tissue paper. This is the best way of getting stamping on a canvas as it is very tricky to get a good impression if you stamp directly onto the textured surface of a canvas. Here it is....

I used a whole lot of stuff for this one. I started with modelling paste and a stencil, then after it dried I brushed the whole surface with gesso. I then sprayed a 'Flat Fabio' from Lindy's Stampgang on it and sprayed some water to make it blend nicely into the canvas. From there on I used Caran d'Ache water-soluble crayons, Inka gold in blue and green and black ink, all applied with my fingers to get it to blend. I repeated this several times to get some depth into the background. When I was happy with it I splattered some black and white ink. Next I stamped my image, a stamp by Dina Wakley onto tissue paper and when dry I adhered it to the canvas with gel medium. I used a white paint pen to draw some dots along her right side and on the edge of the canvas. With some more white ink and a bottle cap I stamped some circles. Lastly I put some Tim Holtz rub ons on and gave the whole thing a coat of gel medium to protect it.

Flower princess

Hello fellow Crafters,

Another DT posting from me today as I am standing in for Cathy. I did an Art journal and used 5 stamps designed by Roc. They are all available through the online Stampotique Shop HERE.

I used watercolour paper and Distress ink (Spiced marmelade) to colour it. I also used a stencil and more of the same ink to create a bit more interest. A bottle cap with black and white acrylic paint made the rings. I also splattered a little of this paint. Bird Princess was stamped in white card, so was the dog and the flowers the girl is holding. I coloured everything with Copic Markers and clear embossed them. The border was stamped on pattern paper and cut out. I coloured the little circles, again with Copic Markers. I then planned to do a bit of sewing but my machine wouldn't work so I drew some lines around the edges. After tearing some more pieces of the pattern paper I glued everything on the page, replacing the bird in her arms with a bouquet of flowers. As a last touch I stamped part of Heart Vine here and there on the edge and used a white gel pen to accentuate it.

These are the stamps I used:

Blessed Skellie (just used the flower from her head)

Movie Star

Hello fellow Crafters,

Today I have made a tag for the 'Hollywood' themed challenge over at Tag Along.

This one was really simple. I painted a tag with pink PaperArtsy Fresco paint and finished with a layer of Pearl Glaze. Unfortunately you can't see this in the photo; it gives a nice subtle shimmer. I used 2 stamps for the background and Audrey as my focal point. These stamps are by a Dutch Company called Stampingback. The sentiment was a freebie with an order I placed, I think with the same company but I am not sure about that. Lastly I drew some thin lines, doodled a bit and put a ribbon through the hole.

Thanks for stopping by !

September Challenge at Viva Las VegaStamps!

Hello fellow Crafters,

Today I did an art journal based on this Inspiration Board for the September Challenge.  I do own a few more VLVStamps now so it is a bit easier to play.

This is my take on it :

I went for vintage and used Distress Inks to colour the background : Antique Linen, Pumice Stone, Black soot and a tiny bit of Spiced Marmelade for some orange spatters. All the stamps I used are from Viva Las VegaStamps! and I used Distress Ink and Archival to stamp the different elements.

Thanks for stopping by !

Wotcha doin?

Hello fellow Crafters,

Another post from me today. Coby has started the two-weekly Stampotique Challenge again over at the Craftorij FB page. She chose 'Indian Summer' colours as her theme. I made a tag.

I used water-soluble crayons to colour the tag which I had lying about with some Gesso stripes on it. I made a whole load of tags and cards with gesso and stencils. Depending on what you use over the top it acts as a resist or just a bit of texture. I used 'Fax to Wolfgang' and white ink to stamp the background but you can't see it very well on the photo. I used a bottle cap to stamp the rings and I splattered some India Ink. Next I stamped 'Birdy Up', coloured and clear embossed them. I then cut them out and took ages to decide where to put them on the tag. I used some book paper to sit them on and to stamp the sentiment, 'Wotcha doin?' I matted the tag on black card stock and put some ribbon through the hole.

Thanks for stopping by !

September challenge : anything but clean and simple

Hello fellow Crafters,

Over at the Stampingback Challenge blog the theme for this month is 'Anything but clean and simple', think colours. I do own some Stampingback stamps and thought I'd use them today. I did keep the colour of this card quite light as I though it suited the subject. Here's my card:

I painted a piece of card with pink and white acrylic paint. I used a stencil and pink ink to make the starburst. The stamps I used are all from Stampingback (Plate 124A). I also used some white and black ink for splattering and doodled around the edge of the card for a bit of added interest.

Thanks for stopping by !

Hope you like it....

Everything is going to be OK..

Hello fellow Crafters,

Last Saturday we had the reunion of the Summer Challenge and whilst in the Craftorij I couldn't resist buying a few bits. Today I used my new Fresco Paints and my new Dina Wakley stamp to make this art journal. The reunion was a great success by the way and it was lovely to meet so many like minded people ! Lia and the other girls in the shop spoiled us with cupcakes, coffees and sweets. Also they organised a little workshop and a make and take which were both very enjoyable.
Anyway here's the journal :

I painted the page with Fresco Paint in Honey dew and then used two more colours: Sage and Limelight with two home carved stamps. I did this last week with a few old erasers. Great fun...
I then used some grey and black ink to do some more background stamping. Dina's girl was stamped with Archival Ink directly on the page in two places. Lastly I stamped the sentiment (Kaiserkraft) also with Archival Jet Black and that was it really. I really like the result although these colours are not my usual thing !

Thanks for stopping by !

Wicked

Hello fellow Crafters,

and happy Wednesday to you. Over on the Stampotique Designers' Challenge blog there is a new challenge up. This week it was the lovely Kaz who chose the theme 'Refresh it' and this is what she said :

"We all love playing with new stamps, but sometimes it's good to revisit some that have been neglected for a while. I'd like you to find an old favourite and give it a new lease of life."
I chose two stamps that I hadn't used in a long time and made a postcard with them :

I started with a postcard sized bit of a gelli print. I did some background stamping and splattered some white ink on it. One of the stamps I hadn't used in ages was 'Hexagon'. You can see it in the background. I stamped it with white ink and clear embossed it. Next I stamped 'Gooseneck'; she was my first Stampotique stamp and had been in the drawer for ages. Poor girl.... I coloured her with alcohol markers, clear embossed her and cut her out. I placed her on some washi tape. I adhered the leftover strips in the top left corner.  (I also stamped her on the card so I didn't have to cut out all the hair. What I do to disguise the fact that I cut of the hair off of an embossed image is put some glossy accents over the hair that was stamped straight on the card. That way it all looks one piece !) I then stamped the sentiment 'Wicked'.  Lastly I drew a line around the card and that was it !
I used the following stamps :

Life is a circus - Challenge # 4 Lost Coast Designs

Hello fellow Crafters,

Over at the Lost Coast Designs blog the fourth Challenge is up. The theme is Clean and Simple and I thought I'd give it a go again. So here goes :

The background was stencilled with Peacock Feathers Distress Ink. I placed some washi tape on top and then stamped and clear embossed on of the Circus Dogs. I cut him out and placed him on the washi tape. Lastly I stamped the sentiment and that was that !

Thanks for stopping by !

Hope you like it!

Puppy love

Hello fellow Crafters,

Over at Roc's Rubber Stamp Facebook page there is another swap ! Yay. A postcard swap and the theme is 'put a heart on your postcard'. Why not become a member and play along HERE.
This is mine:

I bought a bottle of 'Goosebumps' the other day which is a texture spray and I had to try it. So I sprayed it on a white postcard, let it dry and then coloured my card with Distress Inks. It is a great effect. The white is where the spray landed and it has a bit of texture whilst also working as a resist. I stamped the Stacked Love stamp on both the right and left side of the card and then added the stitching with my sewing machine. I stamped the dog and then flipped it by stamping it on the back of a clear stamp and stamping that on the paper. It wasn't a perfect image but with a black fine liner I managed to make it look OK. I made one of them into a girl by giving her a pink nose and eye lashes. I shaded them a little bit and glued them on the card. I put glossy accents on their noses and eyes. Next I stamped the Flying Heart 5 times and added some colour, clear embossed them and glued them on the card also. Lastly I used a Dymo to make the sentiment, stuck it onto the card and put some staples through it for extra strength and interest.

Stamps I used : Stacked Love

You can find all of Roc's stamps HERE in the Stampotique Store.

Lovely horse...

Hello fello Crafters,

I can't  believe it's the 1st of September already. Where did the summer go ??? It's time for my September DT for Roc. I love this horse-stamp, it is one of my FAVES of Roc's Stampotique Collection which you can find HERE.

This is a postcard which I made with three Roc stamps :
Daisy Head (Just the daisy)

The background was made with a home made stamp. Actually it is just a bit of left over rubber from a rubber stamp sheet. I used Distress Inks to stamp this chequered background. I then stamped the Daisy, the horse and the scalloped lace border and coloured them in with Copic Markers in the same sort of colours. The hearts of the flowers and the dots in the border were done with a black fine liner. I then cut them out and adhered them to the card.
Thanks for stopping by !
